CHENNAI: Hotel Pandian in Egmore has been adjudged the best two-star hotel and has won the National Tourism Award in the two-star category for 2010-11, for the third time. The hotel had twice received the Regional Tourism Award for 1997-98 and 1999-2000 for excellence in the hotel industry in the two-star category and twice received the National Tourism Award for 2003-04 and 2007-08 for outstanding performance in the two-star category hotel, both by the Union Ministry of Tourism. The award was presented by President Pratibha Patil at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on February 29. The award was received by the hotel chairman P S Pandian and the Managing Director Francis Mohanraj Pandian.Hotel Pandian, a unit of Harrington Hotels private limited, a flagship company of the Pandian Group of Companies, is located at Egmore, opposite the railway station, the accommodation hub of Chennai. The hotel has 90 AC and non AC rooms, multi-cuisine restaurant, a bar, banquet halls and a travel counter, offering 24-hour check-out, Wi-fi, safe deposit, same day laundry and a doctor on call. A testimony to its true south Indian warmth and hospitality, the hotel provides facilities with friendly and courteous service ensuring customer satisfaction and value for money, Pandian told City Express on Friday.
