CISCE has released a notification on Monday stating a reduction in the minimum pass marks for ICSE and ISC board exams to bring in uniformity with other boards.
As per the new rules the minimum passing marks for ICSE exam i.e. Class 10th would be 33% instead of the current 35% pass marks and the same for ISC exam i.e. Class 12th Boards exams would be 35% instead of the current 40% passing marks.
The newly proposed minimum pass marks for Class 10th and 12th board exams will be applicable from the academic year 2018-2019 and would impact the students appearing in the ICSE & ISC March 2019 Boards Exams.
The development comes on the basis of recommendations made by the Inter-Board Working Group (IBWG) where it was decided that all boards in India must have common pass marks. "Among the many recommendations made by the Inter-Board Working Group (IBWG), it was suggested that all boards in the country should have the same pass mark criteria. In view of this fact, the Council has decided to change its pass mark criteria. The objective of this is to bring about a close uniformity with other Boards in the country," read the official notification.

Meanwhile, the ICSE and ISC Board Exams 2018 date sheet is delayed because of elections in some states in the country and CISCE is awaiting information from the Elections Commission after which it will release the same.
