Chiru to formally join Congress on August 8

HYDERABAD: The much-hyped Congress-PRP merger meeting will be a low key affair and there will be no massive public meeting to mark the occasion. PRP founder president and actor K Chiranjeevi is expected to take the party membership in the presence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on August 8.According to PRP senior leader and MLC C Ramachandraiah, the Congress chief wrote a letter to Chiranjeevi inviting the latter to come to Delhi as per his convenience between August 7 and 10 to complete the merger process.Other PRP leaders will take the membership at Gandhi Bhavan and at the district Congress committee offices across the state. The proposed merger meetings were cancelled in view of prevailing political uncertainty in the state.
