CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has directed the CMDA to demolish within two weeks, a building housing a private hospital in Kilpauk. “The construction (of the hospital building) was an unauthorised and illegal one in all respects,” a division bench comprising Justice Elipe Dharma Rao and Justice D Hariparanthaman observed on Friday.
Originally, the CMDA granted planning permission for construction of a hotel in the plot on Poonamallee High Road on June 20, 1996, valid for three years. The hotel was not constructed within the period.
However, the builder constructed the hospital on the site without permission.
