BANGALORE: Forest Minister C P Yogeshwar, who is facing several charges against him, is in another legal soup as Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise Limited (NICE) MD Ashok Kheny filed a cheating case against him at Vidhana Soudha police station on Wednesday.Kheny alleged that Yogeshwar had cheated NICE to the tune of Rs 2 crore, which the company had paid him in 2005 for speedy land acquisition for BMIC Project.A Rudragoud, vice-president of the accounts section of the company, filed the case on behalf of Kheny. “Nandi Engineering Limited was engaged in the construction of BMIC project. In the wake of implementation of the project, we were looking speedy land acquisition, and Yogeshwar approached Kheny, and assured us of transferring a sizable portion of land belonging to him for the project in 2005. We gave two cheques of `1 crore each in January 2005,” the complainant stated.The police are yet to file an FIR in the case.Hearing Deferred on Cases Against NetasThe Lokayukta Court on Wednesday posted hearing on two separate cases involving BJP MLA M Srinivas and JD(S) MLC E Krishnappa respectively, to April 5.  Srinivas is accused of amassing wealth disproportionate to his sources of income.Litterateurs told to file objectionThe HC on Wednesday directed G S Shivarudrappa, Girish Karnad, Chandrashekar Kambar and U R Ananthamurthy — petitioners of a PIL seeking to quash a notification to close Kannada schools across the state — to file their objections.A division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna directed that the petitioners file their objections at the earliest.
