HYDERABAD: After chastisement by the court, the CBI has begun the process of securing permission for prosecution of IAS officers LV Subrahmanyam and BP Acharya in the EMAAR case by sending the request letter to the Centre through the state government.Though the CBI had sought permission in the past, it was turned down by the Centre as it had not come through proper channel. As for the state government, it has had no official information so far from the CBI that it named Acharya and Subrahmanyam in the charge sheet and that it was planning to prosecute them. With the special court rejecting its plea earlier in the day, the CBI has now hastened the process of applying for permission for clearance from the Centre.
