Cardinal to be felicitated today

KOCHI: Syro-Malabar Church Major Archbishop Mar George Alencherry, who was elevated as Cardinal recently, will be accorded a reception at St Mary’s Basilica Church in Kochi on Saturday. All bishops of the Syro-Malabar Church and representatives of the other Catholic denominations will take part. Cardinal Mar Alencherry will be the main celebrant of the Holy Mass to be held prior to the reception. Apostolic Nuncio to India Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio and Syro-Malankara Church supremo Archbishop Baselios Mar Cleemis will address the faithful. Archbishop of Verapoly Francis Kallarakkal and Ernakulam-Angamaly archdiocese pastoral council secretary Binu John will offer felicitations.
