NEW DELHI: The union cabinet Tuesday approved Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for the Medara community in Karnataka. The government will introduce a bill in parliament for revision of the ST list. Officials said the decision would fulfil the long term demand of the Medara community.Those from the Medara community will be eligible to get Scheduled Tribe certificate from the Karnataka government and will be eligible for all the benefits under the constitution.
