NELLORE: The results of the by-elections in the state to be held on March 18 will be an indication of what the future holds for the Congress in 2014 when the general election is due, YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has said.Addressing a series of roadside election meetings at Pothireddypalle and Saluchintala villages in Kovur mandal, and Gandavaram in Kodavaluru mandal in the Kovuru Assembly constituency on Friday to canvass for his party candidate N Prasanna Kumar Reddy, Jagan said the results would be no different from the Uttar Pradesh election results for the Congress.“Regional parties are gaining power. People have seen through the misgovernance by the Congress. In Andhra Pradesh they have seen how the present government diluted the welfare programmes introduced by the YSR government in 2004 and 2009. They are waiting to use their vote power to change the regime.''The Kadapa MP accused the government of abusing power and government machinery to mobilise people for the chief minister's public meeting. Cash and liquor, used by the ruling party to lure voters, were being transported in the vehicles of ministers and MLAs, he alleged.Prasanna Kumar Reddy Chandrababu Naidu's dictatorial ways led to the exodus of several leaders from the TDP.
