Businessman commits suicde by shooting himself dead

A 50-year-old businessman allegedly shot himself dead in Dalmau area in Rae Bareli, police said on Sunday.

Disturbed with prolonged illness, Ram Lotan Sahu (50) shot himself with a country-made firearm outside his residence in Maliapur village on Saturday night, Superintendent of Police, N Kolanchi said.

Sahu was ill since the last 20 years and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Lucknow, he said.

He was rushed to Lucknow in a serious condition, but he succumbed on the way, the SP said.
