Bush magic runs cold on hot seat
According to a Survey conducted by CBS News, 57 per cent people said Bush was not doing a good job.

Washington: Public confidence in President George W Bush has fallen to all time low of 35 per cent, according to a CBS News poll, the worst level since he took office in 2001 and one of the worst for any President.

His job approval rating was down from 37 per cent in a previous CBS poll in October.

The CBS poll compared Bush's job approval rating with some other Presidents at about the same point in their second term.

In November 1997, in the first year of his second Presidential term, 57 per cent of Americans approved of Bill Clinton.

The job approval rating of Ronald Reagan in November 1985 was 65 per cent. A Gallup poll in November 1957 found 58 per cent approval for Dweight Eisenhower.

On the contrary, President Richard Nixon's job approval rating was only 27 per cent in November 1973 after the Watergate scandal became public.

The latest CBS poll brought slightly better news for Bush on Iraq.

Fifty-per cent believed that US troops should withdraw from Iraq, compared with 59 per cent in October.

Forty three per cent said that the troops should stay as long it takes, up from 36 per cent last month.
