HYDERABAD: The BJP, which has announced recently that it will simultaneously launch Jai Telangana and Jai Andhra movements to force its demand for division of the state into two, will go slow on launching the Jai Andhra movement. The party planned to launch the Jai Andhra movement in December but deferred its plan realising that the political situation in the Andhra region is not conducive to such a movement.According to sources, party leaders in Andhra and Rayalaseema have been pressing the state leadership to rethink on launching the Jai Andhra movement now when a strong sentiment for United Andhra is sweeping the region. The Andhra leaders are apprehensive that any separatist movement in the region will make the party lose whatever people’s support it has. That is the reason for Seemandhra BJP leaders delaying the Jai Andhra movement.According to a BJP leader in Vijayawada, people will go after them if they visit villages with Jai Andhra slogan. Similar feedback has been received from the cadre in Krishna, East Godavari, West Godavari, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts.Party state secretary Somu Veera Raju, who hails from Rajahmundry, said they were waiting for the green signal from the party high command to organise a meeting to launch Jai Andhra movement. But he was not sure that the movement would be launched soon. BJP state president G Kishan Reddy attributed the delay in launching the agitation to preparation of literature.
