Coming down heavily on the CPM and the RSS, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has alleged that both the parties are in a tacit understanding at the national level. “If some one doubts whether this nexus is in view of the 2014 Parliament elections, they cannot be blamed,” he said while inaugurating the central zone convention of the Indian Lawyers’ Congress here on Sunday.
Chennithala said the statement of the CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan against the article calling for the unity of the CPM and the RSS is only an exercise to conceal the shame caused by the expose. “Pinarayi’s claims are false and neither the CPM or the RSS has stated anything against each other in the last four years. BJP is the only party which did not criticise the brutal murder of T P Chandrasekharan. O Rajagopal, their senior leader and the candidate at Neyyatinkara byelection did not condemn the murder while rest of the political parties and their leaders came out against the CPM in the issue. The recent visits to the houses of the slain BJP workers in Kannur by the CPM leaders, including the district secretary P Jayarajan show the sprouting of the new friendship”, he said.
Chennithala alleged that a CPM-BJP combination can be lethal as both believe in eliminating the political opponents through annihilation and criminalising politics.
He pointed out that the camaraderie between the parties go beyond the state and the protest staged in New Delhi against the foreign direct investment in retail sector is a telling example of this. “CPM leader Sitaram Yechuri had no hitch in welcoming BJP president Nitin Gadkari to the protest march and this shows that the friendship is of a national nature”, Chennithala said. The KPCC president equated BJP with the Popular Front of India and said both the parties have to be shunned alike.
