With the term of 18 MLCs each from Bihar and Maharashtra coming to an end in April and May, the Election Commission on Friday announced the biennial elections to the two Legislative Councils on March 20.
The term of nine members each from the Legislative Councils will expire on April 24 and May 6 respectively.
Announcing the poll schedule, the EC said notifications will be issued on March 3, while March 10 will be the last date of filing papers followed by scrutiny of papers the next day.
March 13 has been set as the last date for withdrawal of candidatures.
Counting of votes will be held on March 20 itself after conclusion of voting.
