BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking direction to disqualify former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy from holding office as Member of Parliament for having committed the offence of bigamy, which is punishable under IPC.A division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna dismissed the petition filed by city-based advocate Shashidhar Belaguma on grounds of lack of proof.Belaguma alleged that Kumaraswamy had committed a crime by marrying Kannada actress Radhika while being legally married to his wife, Anita.Petition Against Dharam Singh DeferredThe High Court on Monday adjourned a petition field against former chief minister N Dharam Singh who featured in the first Lokayukta report on illegal mining. A division bench headed by Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen adjourned the PIL filed by D Natesh, a resident of Bangalore, seeking action against Singh as recommended by the report. The Lokayukta had held the former chief minister of causing `23 crore to the state exchequer.
