BANGALORE: Inspired by the standard of schooling here at Karnataka, Mahiepala Herath, Chief Minister of Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka, offered 25-acre-land to BGS Group to set up an international school in the island nation.Speaking at the two-day cultural fest, ‘BGS Utsav 2011’, Mahiepala Herath said, “The standards of schooling and teaching here, is admired. We wish to take this standard to students of our country. We have offered 25 acre land at Ratnapura, which is 70-km away from Colombo. BGS Group along with the co-ordination of Sri Lankan government will set up an international school for our children”.Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, president, Sri Adichunchanagiri Mutt, received the documents related to the 25-acre land from Mahiepala.More than 500 students from various parts of the state participated in the day long cultural programmes.
