BANGALORE: Sleuths of Central Crime Branch Special Investigation Team here on Monday busted a cricket betting racket and arrested a 46-year-old person. The accused has been identified as Basavaraju, a resident of Kalidasa Layout at Srinagar. The accused and his associates were involved in a betting racket based on the ongoing IPL matches.The police recovered `1 lakh cash, a television and three mobile phones from the accused.The sleuths have booked a case against the accused at Hanumanthnagar police station and are also on the look out for the other two accused -Kailash alias Bachaan and Ajith, who are absconding.2 Arrested for Selling Fake CartridgesSleuths of Fraud and Misappropriation wing of Central Crime Branch arrested two persons who were allegedly involved in selling fake inkjet cartridges of brands like HP, Canon and Samsung on Monday.The accused have been identified as Pavan Kumar alias Hari Prasad, 29, and Mohan alias Bhavani B, 21, both residents of Ashoknagar. The police said that the accused along with their associates manufactured fake cartridges, toners and allegedly sold them to consumers. The police recovered 250 cartridges, 300 ink filling drums, 10 printers, 2 heating machines, 500 rut cards and weighing machines worth `20 lakh and `28,000 cash from the accused.A case has been registered at Ashoknagar Police station. The police are on a look out for Vaviya Patel Jayasukh and Naveen Narun Patel, who are absconding.
