Ayodhya Temple Chief Priest Reacts Sharply After Ram Lalla Idol Photo Leaked Online, Demands Probe
The chief priest of the Ayodhya temple reacted strongly after image of the new Ram Lalla idol without the cover went viral on Friday

Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, on Saturday strongly reacted after the first image of the new Ram Lalla idol became public ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the Ayodhya temple on January 22. The chief priest further demanded an investigation after photographs showing the uncovered eyes of the idol of Ram Lalla were leaked on Friday.

“The eyes of Lord Ram’s idol cannot be revealed before the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ is completed. If the eyes can be seen, an investigation should be done on who revealed the eyes and how the pictures of the idol went viral on social media,” chief priest Satyendra Das said.

At first, the image of the new idol placed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple with eyes covered with a cloth surfaced on social media late Thursday night. A day later, photos of the idol without the cover circulated on social media platforms.

Notably, concerns were raised among the officials after the photo of Ram Lalla from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi sanctum sanctorum went viral before the consecration of the Ayodhya temple. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is now seriously considering taking action against the culprits.

Meanwhile, the office bearers of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the temple trust rejected releasing any photographs.

Ram Lalla Idol Pictures Released

Carved in black stone and holding a golden bow and arrow, the first image of the Ram Lalla idol became public on Friday. The 51-inch idol of Ram as a five-year-old child was placed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, ahead of the pran pratishtha on January 22.

The original idols of Ram (Ram Lalla Virajman) and his brothers will be installed in front of the new idol inside the garbagriha. These have been worshipped since 1949, and are at present kept in the makeshift temple inside the premises; the idols will be moved to the new temple inside the garbagriha before the ceremony. The entire temple complex will be closed to the public on January 20 and 21.
