MYSORE: Police arrested two youths for sexually harassing an Australian national. Mercy Luz, 26, was on a tourist visa in Mysore and came to learn French and yoga. She stayed as a paying guest at an advocate's house in Chamarajapuram.
On June 17, at a city hotel she met Chandra Vishwas, 23, of Channapatna and they exchanged numbers. She told Vishwas on June 24 that she would be going to Bangalore. Vishwas took her to Bangalore and convinced her to stay in a lodge that night. He took her to his cousin Shrunkal Gowda's Irish lodge at Channapatna and raped her. Mercy tried to run away that night, but Shrunkal Gowda, 21, convinced her to leave in the morning, following which he attempted raping her. The next morning Mercy filed a complaint with Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal on Sunday.
