Melbourne: Australia will take part in a triangular One-Day series with India and West Indies in Malaysia next month, Cricket Australia said on Wednesday.
The teams will play each other twice in the round-robin stage starting on September 12 with the world champions facing West Indies in the tournament opener.
The final will be on September 24 with all matches to be played at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
"This tri-nations tournament is a fantastic opportunity for Australia to play cricket against world class opposition in the run-up to the ICC Champions Trophy," Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland said in a statement.
The ICC Champions Trophy, which Australia have never won and is regarded as a dress rehearsal for next year's World Cup in the Caribbean, starts in India on October 7 and features all the major Test and One-Day playing nations.
Australia last played in Malaysia when a side captained by Steve Waugh lost to South Africa by four wickets in the gold medal match at the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
