Jammu: A 15-year-old boy from Pakistan who had crossed over to this side along International Border (IB) in Jammu district for better livelihood options, was on Wednesday handed over to his country by the BSF troops.
The BSF troops guarding the IB in Border Out Post (BoP) Abdullian in RS Pura sector of Jammu district saw a boy crossing fence from below on Tuesday, a senior BSF officer said.
As he reached the centre of three-tier fencing, alert BSF troops arrested him, he said, adding that he was later questioned.
During questioning, he identified himself as 15-year-old Rizwan, son of Amin Ali Comma of village Mehdi Khan, Darif Wala district, Pakistan.
The boy was wearing a brown-colored jeans and pink T-Shirt and nothing incriminating was recovered from him, the officer said.
"For the last 3 years, he has been traveling along with a dance troupe performing at various places in Pakistan including border areas. He was deliberately trying to cross the border for better options", BSF officer said.
As per the decision taken in DG Level talks, Pakistan Rangers were informed and the boy was handed over Wednesday evening, he added.
