Srinagar: Air traffic at Srinagar Airport resumed on Sunday as normal flight operations took place after the visibility improved, even as a thick layer of fog engulfed Kashmir Valley.

There were normal flight operations at the airport on Sunday, Director Airport Authority of India (AAI), Srinagar, Sharad Kumar said.

He said the air traffic resumed at the airport this morning as the visibility, which was hampered by a thick layer of fog yesterday, improved on Sunday.

Though there was fog, the required visibility of 1.3 km was there, so the flights landed at the airport, he said.

The air traffic was hit on Saturday as all flights were cancelled due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

The operations were first hit on Thursday last when the afternoon flights had to be cancelled due to poor visibility because of a dense layer of fog.

During the last 11 days, there have been only two days - Friday and Sunday when flight operations took place normally at the airport.
