Noida is among the districts in Uttar Pradesh, which witnesses many lives being lost on roads, especially due to speeding.
According to police records, 965 accidents were recorded in Gautam Budh Nagar district from January till November last year, in which 394 people died and 819 people were seriously injured.
Besides Sharma, other residents and police officers also lauded DGP's move, and tagged others to challenge them for the dare.

#RoadSafetyChallenge is a welcome move by the @dgpup . Once people start adhering to Traffic & MV Act, many lives could be saved. Our roads would become much safer.
