HYDERABAD: Three houses located in the police quarters at Goshamahal were burgled and Rs 29,000 belonging to police personnel stolen from the premises.Though police did not confirm, it is learnt the thieves stole money from the pockets of clothes hung in the front rooms. The houses were locked in the evening when the incident took place, sources said. The offenders reportedly took away Rs 2,500 from the house of constable Nagaraju, Rs 12,000 cash from a trainee SI's house and Rs 14,500 from a head constable's quarters. Police, however, claimed some personnel chased away miscreants who tried to enter a quarter and no theft took place.In another incident, the house of a government teacher in Rajendranagar was burgled and Rs 2 lakh valuables stolen. The theft took place in the house of Srinivas Rao, who works in a government school at Punjagutta and a resident of Chetana Vilas in Hyderguda. Srinivas Rao and his family members went to West Godavari district to attend a marriage when the theft took place. He returned on Monday morning and found the house burgled. Nearly six tola gold ornaments, eight tola silver ornaments and Rs 15,000 cash was stolen.Following a complaint by Srinivas Rao, Rajendranagar police registered a case.
