Army Chief General VK Singh said the aim of marking the year for them was to solve their problems speedily.
Narsinghpur: Army Chief General VK Singh on Saturday said that he had decided to celebrate this year as the year of former military personnel.
General Singh was speaking after inaugurating a blood bank and a sick newborn care unit, built in the memory of former minister, the late Colonel Ajay Narayan Mushran, at the District Hospital.
Expressing solidarity with the former defence personnel, Army Chief said the aim of marking the year for them was to solve their problems speedily.
Singh, alongwith Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, also laid the foundation of a stadium to be built in the memory of Colonel Mushran.
Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan praised the army Chief for "always speaking the truth".
