The special police team, investigating the murder of Saji, an accomplice of Choozhattukotta Ambili, has arrested two persons for sheltering Soju alias Ammakkorumakan, the prime accused in the case, who is on the run.

The arrested have been identified as Shaji, 36, of Uchakkada near Venganoor and Satheesh Kumar, 39, of Kottukal near Payattuvila. According to the police, the two arranged shelter for Soju in the house of Ani of Sicilipuram, near Vizhinjam, on September 5.  The duo, on the very next day, helped Soju to shift his hideout by moving him in an Innova car to Peringammala. The police said that Shaji was Soju’s right-hand man and a trusted accomplice.  The arrests were made by the team from two different locations on Friday night and Saturday morning and were remanded. Meanwhile, the hunt for Soju is on, police said.
