Two married women ended their lives under different circumstances in the City on Sunday. One took the extreme step over an alleged extra-marital affair of her husband while the other reportedly committed suicide in a depressed state.
Mahila Police sources said Pranati Praharaj (25) ended her life by hanging herself in her Chintamaniswar home. She reportedly was unhappy over her husband’s alleged affair with another woman. Pranati also left a suicide note in which she allegedly mentioned that she was being pressurised to seek a plot of land from her family. Mahila Police have detained three persons and interrogating.
In the second case, one Mamata Subhadarshini (27) consumed an overdose of sleeping pills to end her life. A case has been registered with Sahid Nagar Police in this regard.
