The bodies of 11 victims of Samjhauta Express blast have been identified including four Indians and seven Pakistanis.

New Delhi: Two more bodies of the victims of the Samjhauta Express blasts have been identified.

With this, the bodies of 11 of the 67 killed on Monday’s explosions have been identified. These include four Indians and seven Pakistanis.

The Indians include a woman, Shakina Begum who is a resident of Seelampur area of Delhi and two RPF personnel, Kashmir Singh and Rajender Pal.

A resident of Srinagar, Yasmin Akhtar is also among the dead, railway officials said on Tuesday.

Among the Pakistani victims, five are males and two females. They include a family of five; Tasleem Khan, his wife Nafeesa Begum, daughter Mahreen Khan and sons Rool Amin and Mohd Sajid, residents of Pakistan's Hyderabad.

The other two Pakistanis identified were Saiyyad Akhtar, a resident of Hyderabad, and Shafiq Ahmed of Karachi.

Twelve people, who were injured in the blasts, were admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi.

Most of the bodies that were brought to the Civil Hospital in Panipat were charred beyond recognition, posing difficulties in identifying them.

The unidentified bodies will be embalmed and preserved for some time so as to enable their identification, said N C

them at least one blood relation of the dead so as to help in the tests, he said.

At least 67 people were charred to death when two powerful explosions ripped through two coaches of the Lahore-bound Samjhauta Express about 10kms from Panipat on Sunday night.
