With less than a month left for the much-awaited consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, a Hyderabad-based Timber depot in Telangana is busy making as many as 100 doors for the temple.
Situated in New Bowenpally, Anuradha Timbers International has set up a workshop with a team of as many as 50 members in Ayodhya to prepare the doors.
It all started three years ago when the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust at Ayodhya asked Anuradha Timbers to prepare a model of the temple with wood.
They presented the model within time and to their surprise, the construction of the temple was based on the wooden model they had submitted. Anuradha Timbers is not new in the field of making wooden articles for temples and other worship places and has been in the field for decades together.
Their team at Ayodhya is making multiple doors in the Ram Temple including one to the sanctum sanctorum, and the other to surrounding buildings in the temple complex including the pilgrimage centre.
According to the team, three types of architecture including Dravida, Nepali and Nagara have been used in the construction of the temple.
However, the maximum part of the complex has been constructed based on the Nagara architecture, and the doors are under preparation accordingly.
“The golden plating to 18 doors belonging to the ground floor of the temple is under process. We believe we got this opportunity with the blessings of Lord Ram and divine intervention. We are doing our work with commitment, dedication and utmost devotion. We started our work in June and it will continue for another year. Except for brass, we do not use any other metals or alloys including iron and steel in making wooden doors. We are traditionally making the doors. We have been using high-quality wood with a life span of 1,000 years brought from Balharshah,” Sarath Babu, representative, of Anuradha Timbers International.
