Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, featuring Prabhas, hit theaters on December 22, garnering praise from both critics and fans. In a unique move, the title of the second part was unveiled in the end credits of Salaar. Director Prashanth Neel clarified in pre-release interviews that the second part is yet to be filmed, and production will kickstart later.
The decision to release Salaar in two parts was intentional, as announced during the film’s teaser release earlier in the year. Although Part 1 lacked an end credit scene, the title of the sequel, Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam, was revealed in the closing credits. For those unfamiliar, Shouryanga is the clan to which Prabhas’ character, Deva, belongs. The second part of the film is set to explore the transformation of Deva into an enemy for Varadha (Prithviraj).
News18’s review of Salaar read, “The film dedicates its first chapter to Prabhas’ character, who is also nicknamed Salaar. Following a long hiatus from the action front, fans can now see Prabhas in a full-fledged action movie. Prashanth knows how to show off the Herculean Prabhas in a way that fans find appealing.”
The film kicked off its first show as early as 1 am and audiences are sharing their Salaar review. Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, social media users are praising Prabhas for his performance while raving about Prashant Neel’s direction. Trade expert Manobala V penned a lengthy Salaar review, praising Prabhas, Prashant and even Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays a vital role in the film.
Buzz is that, the film recorded the highest-ever opening at the ticket window with their ticket sales. According to a report in Sacknilk, the film minted over 95 crores at the ticket window.
Directed by Prashant Neel, Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1 had an overall 87.81% Telugu Occupancy on Friday, December 22, 2023.
