Obtain three gold nuggets. You can get ore from smashing rocks. To smash a rock, equip your shovel and press A while facing the rock. In your town you should have some rocks scattered about. Every day, one rock will contain bells. If you have a silver shovel, you can sometimes get ore from these rocks instead. If you do, hit the rock until all the ore has come out (there will be seven pieces maximum, but there might be fewer if you miss a hit). You can also get ore from temporary and breakable rocks. Memorise the location of all the rocks in your town, so that you are able to identify if there is a new rock. If you notice a rock that wasn't there before, hit it with your shovel (it doesn't matter what type of shovel), and it should break and there will be a piece of ore inside. Ore.jpeg You cannot do this for rocks you find on the ore tour at the island, as you are unable to take this ore back to your town. Ore from dream towns does not work either, because items from dream towns cannot be taken home. You are able to smash temporary rocks from a friend's town, but you cannot get any bells or ore from their permanent rocks. There are five types of ore: amethysts, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, silver nuggets and gold nuggets. You can only make golden furniture with gold nuggets.
Locate Cyrus and speak to him. Cyrus is the blue alpaca to the left side of Re-Tail. You must have woken him up beforehand to be able to speak to him. Re-Tail is a pink recycling shop found somewhere in your town (not on Main Street). On your town map, it will be represented by two pink arrows forming a circle. Go up to Cyrus and press A.Project.jpeg Cyrus will always be asleep if you are playing multiplayer, or if your gates are open. By default, Re-Tail is open 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. If you have the Early Bird ordinance, Re-Tail will be open 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. If you have the Night Owl ordinance in place, Re-Tail will be open 9:00 AM to 2:00 AM.
Give Cyrus a gold nugget. When you say "I have a project for you!", Cyrus will ask you to give you the items so he can take a closer look. You must have all three gold nuggets in your pockets. You must also have 10,000 bells on you, which is how much it costs to make golden furniture. He will take all three gold nuggets, and your 10,000 bells before getting to work.Give.jpeg You do not get to choose which golden furniture he makes - it is entirely random, but there are thirteen in total. For methods on how to obtain 10,000 bells, read Make Bells Quickly on Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Wait 30 minutes before picking up your furniture. It takes Cyrus 30 minutes for him to complete the project. Spend your time doing something else, such as deep sea diving, helping villagers, or working towards that perfect town. After 30 minutes, return to Re-Tail to collect your item. Stand in front of the item and press A, it will say "Take home [item name]?". Take it home and display it in your house.Wall torch.jpeg If you don't like waiting, you can time travel ahead at least half an hour. You cannot take it home if your pockets are full. Ensure there is at least one space available in your pockets. If you didn't get the item you wanted, or want more golden furniture, you can give Cyrus another three gold nuggets and 10,000 bells. There isn't a limit to how many items Cyrus can refurbish, so when one's done, you can start another. You can also get a refurbishing badge from Phineas if you refurbish items enough times. There are thirteen different golden items to collect: Golden bed Golden chair Golden dresser Golden table Golden warrior Golden closet Golden king Golden screen Golden sofa Golden clock Golden wall torch Golden wallpaper Golden floor
