Toggle the Volume buttons.
In the Hulu app, press the Volume Down button first. Some apps may have a feature to mute all sounds upon opening, such as TikTok. When this feature is enabled, you'll need to press the Volume Down button to enable the sound again. Then, press the Volume up button to raise the sound to your preference.
Try a different video.
Test the volume of a different show or movie. If you're not getting sound for a specific episode or movie, find a new one to check the volume. In some cases, there will be volume for the new video, and it should bring the volume back to the previous video.
Raise the volume with the menu.
Adjust the sound with the Control Center. Open the Control Center by swiping down on the top-right corner (or swiping up from the Home button). Tap the Volume bar and drag it up to raise the volume.
Disconnect Bluetooth devices.
Make sure you aren't connected to a Bluetooth device. This could be a speaker, headphones, or even a car. When a trusted Bluetooth device is turned on and in range, it may connect automatically without your knowledge. To disconnect Bluetooth, do the following: Swipe down on the top-right corner to open the Control Center. If your device has a Home button, swipe up from the bottom. If the Bluetooth icon is blue, tap it so it turns grey. Try using Hulu again.
Restart the app.
Close the Hulu app and open it again. App issues can sometimes be fixed with a quick refresh. Swipe up from the bottom (or double-click the Home button) and swipe up on Hulu to close it. Wait a few seconds, and then tap Hulu to open it again.
Update Hulu.
Make sure Hulu is updated. If you don't have automatic updates enabled, you'll need to manually update the app in the App Store. Do the following: Open the App Store. Tap your Apple ID profile picture. Scroll down to find Hulu in the list of apps. Tap Update.
Update your device.
Make sure your iPhone is updated. Software updates include the latest bug fixes, so be sure your device is up-to-date. Do the following: Go to Settings. Tap General. Tap Software Update. Tap Download and Install.
Restart your device.
Restart your iPhone. On iPhones without a Home button, press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button until the Power slider appears. For iPhones with a Home button, press and hold the side button until the slider appears. Slide the slider with your finger and wait for your iPhone to turn off. Wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. Try using Hulu again.
Try using headphones.
Plug in headphones to check the volume. It's best to use a wired pair to rule out any problems with Bluetooth itself. Plug them in, and then listen for any sound. If you can hear sound through the headphones, this may indicate a problem with the speakers. You may have to clean them or contact an Apple technician to repair them.
