Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas’ names have popped up in a report about Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ divorce. Last month, Sophie and Joe confirmed that they were headed for a split. Although the Game of Thrones star and the Jonas Brothers singer have refrained from sharing the reason behind the divorce, reports have claimed that their different lifestyles were one of the major reasons. Now, a new report has surfaced online claiming that another alleged reason involves Priyanka and Nick.
We’d suggest you take this report with a big pinch of salt. A source told Daily Mail a few days ago that the Jonas family would compare Sophie with Priyanka and that caused a lot of pressure for the X-Men star. A friend close to Sophie told the publication that the Jonas family felt that Nick and Priyanka are ‘more settled in their relationship’ despite their big age gap and wanted Joe to have a similar relationship. Sophie allegedly felt ‘increasingly pressurised’ due to the comparison.
“His brother’s wife is a lot older and mature, and the family compare Sophie to Priyanka, which has put her (Sophie) under a lot of stress. Nick is younger than Joe but is more settled. He and Priyanka are on the same page about their careers and family life. Joe and his family want him to be in a relationship like this, but Sophie feels that she’s only 27 and hasn’t even really lived because she’s spent all her good, young years working,” the friend claimed.
“It wasn’t an issue at first but the age gap between Sophie and Joe has become a real problem. They want very different things,” they added. The insider also claimed that that Joe wanted to have another baby. “Joe would like another kid, he’s a real family man. But while Sophie’s been in the UK, she’s also realised just how much she misses this country; it’s the final nail in the coffin for them.”
The report was published early last month but News18 couldn’t verify the claims at the time of publishing.
Sophie and Joe’s divorce took an ugly turn due to the custody battle. While it was reported that Joe wanted to have a shared custody of their daughters, Sophie allegedly filed a petition in the court asking Joe Jonas to return the couple’s daughters, Willa and her younger sister, back to the UK. It is claimed that Sophie and Joe changed their permanent address to England in April this year. It is also reported that Sophie and Joe are keeping their two young children in New York for now as part of a temporary court agreement.
Last month, fans were in for a shock when it was claimed that Joe had filed for a divorce from Sophie. Joe and Sophie issued a joint statement confirming that they are parting ways. “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” their joint statement read. The couple had been married for four years.
