Kevin Turen, the producer behind some much-talked-about projects like Euphoria and The Idol, passed away over the weekend. He was 44 years old. According to a report by Variety, the cause behind his death is yet to be known. An official statement is yet to be made by his family.
However, his close friend and CEO of Penske Media Corporation, Jay Penske said, “Despite his many achievements in Hollywood, Kevin’s greatest passion was his family and friends. He was so proud of his children. He and his wife, Evelina, were resolved that their children grow up with great values and ensured they make a difference in the broader world. Our collective heart breaks for them, and we all feel such a profound sense of loss. We will miss Kevin so much, and this town lost one of its brightest rising stars today.”
Kevin co-founded Little Lamb Productions in 2018 with Sam Levinson and Ashley Levinson. Their most famous project is the Zendaya and Jacob Elordi starrer show Euphoria. The HBO drama series won Zendaya two Emmy awards. The company also produced The Weeknd and Lilly Rose-Depp’s highly controversial film, The Idol.
However, besides these projects, Kevin also produced indie film director Ti West’s slasher films, X, Pearl and MaXXXine, headlined by Mia Goth. He also produced titles like Waves, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, The Birth of a Nation, 99 Homes and All is Lost. He also produced the feature Pieces of a Woman, starring Vanessa Kirby who won an Academy Award nomination for her performance in the film.
The producer was born on August 16, 1979, in New York City. He attended Columbia University and earned a degree in English and Critical Film Studies. Before co-founding his own production company, he worked for First Look Studios, Infinity Media and Treehouse Pictures. Kevin was also the President of Production at Phantom Four.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Evelina, and his two sons, Jack and James.
