House Of The Dragon Season 2 Trailers Out: Pick A Side, Green Or Black
In House of the Dragon season 2, viewers will get a closer look at this epic Targaryen family feud.

After a tumultuous first season that left House Targaryen divided, House of the Dragon is poised for an even more intense second season. The long-awaited release of two new trailers, one Black and one Green, has heightened anticipation as both groups prepare for a brutal conflict. Inspired by George RR Martin’s novel The Princess and the Queen, HBO, the trailer spotlights Princess Rhaenyra and Queen Alicent’s ruthless plans portrayed by Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke, respectively. Both trailers show the struggle between revenge and fear of the consequences. Neither side seems willing to end the conflict peacefully. As more houses join the battle, the death toll in House of the Dragon season 2 is expected to rise when the show returns on June 16th. It will stream on Jio Cinema in India.

In the famous A Song of Ice and Fire books and Game of Thrones series, the Dance of Dragons conflict was hinted at but was never fully explored. Finally, in the upcoming series, viewers will finally get a closer look at this epic Targaryen family feud. Season 1 of House of the Dragon set the stage, introducing key elements, and now, with season 2 on the horizon, the trailers offer a glimpse into how Team Green and Team Black are preparing for the Targaryen civil war.

The official synopsis read, “Based on George RR Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen. Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. As each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers reflect those two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story. For global audiences, All Must Choose their side of House Targaryen as the realm fractures in season two."

In season 2, the story will continue right where season 1 ended. After the shocking events of the finale, where Aegon becomes king instead of Rhaenyra, tensions are high. Rhaenyra, who was supposed to be the next ruler, is furious. Her anger grows even more after her son, Prince Lucerys, is killed by Aemond Targaryen’s dragon, Vhagar, during a tragic incident at Storm’s End. This heartbreaking loss adds fuel to the fire and sets the stage for an intense showdown between the Targaryen siblings.

Apart from Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy, House of the Dragon season 2 will see the return of Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham. Along with them, many new faces are set to join the show.
