Buenos Aires: Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez will be available for Argentina's upcoming World Cup qualifier against Brazil in June after his international suspension was shortened.

Tevez was originally banned from the next two qualifiers after he was ejected for elbowing Ruben Dario Bustos in Argentina's 2-1 loss to Colombia in November.

However, the Argentine football federation AFA said CONMEBOL had reduced the penalty to one match after hearing an appeal.

AFA said the full ban could be reinstated if Tevez has future disciplinary problems. He will still miss Argentina's next home qualifier against Ecuador on June 14. Argentina travel to Brazil three days later.

Paraguay lead the South American qualifying race with 10 points, followed by Argentina with nine and Brazil and Colombia on eight.
