Seville: Sevilla have signed holding midfielder Vicente Iborra from fellow Spanish club Levante.
Levante say Sevilla met the undisclosed buyout clause. The length of Iborra's contract was also not disclosed.
Iborra spent the past six seasons with Levante's first team and had recently been appointed captain after the departure of Sergio Ballesteros.
In return, Sevilla agreed to loan Senegalese striker Baba Diawara to Levante for one season.
The arrival of the 25-year-old Iborra at Sevilla could clear the way for Geoffrey Kondogbia to join one of several teams reportedly interested in acquiring the young French player.
Sevilla play their first game of the Spanish La Liga season at home against Atletico Madrid on Sunday. They will also compete in the Europa League.
