Social media users were recently asked to reply to a post with their unpopular football opinions. This led to one user dropping in a chart showcasing that Alli had better statistics at 21.

An astounding comparison between England midfielders Jude Bellingham and Dele Alli has taken the internet by storm. Social media users were recently asked to reply to a post with their unpopular football opinions. This led to one user dropping in a chart showcasing that Alli had better statistics at 21.

The post claimed that Bellingham only scored 30 goals and provided as many assists in 155 games. Whereas, Alli scored 46 goals and 41 assists at the same age. It was also claimed that Alli was a better player than the Real Madrid midfielder. “Dele was a better player than Bellingham,” read the post.

The post instantly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), sparking several reactions from fans. One of them argued that Dele Alli never hit the same peak as Jude Bellingham. He wrote, “Bellingham had 27 goals and 15 assists This season. Alli never touched those levels. His level was Tottenham and he peaked at 21.”

One social media user found the comparison to be rather unfair and wrote, “They played different positions. Bellingham started at a deeper role and now is more attacking oriented while Dele was more of a second striker at that age.”

Another replied, “Dele was better playing for Tottenham…never seen him playing for a big team.”

Having risen through the youth system at Milton Keynes Dons, Dele Alli established himself as a hot prospect at Tottenham Hotspur under Mauricio Pochettino. He signed for the Spurs in 2015. In his first two seasons, Alli was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year while also making the PFA Team of the Year.

Dele Alli might have had a brilliant start to his Premier League career but he still does not have the trophies to show for it. Whereas, Jude Bellingham just recently won the Champions League and the LaLiga at the age of 21. He also helped England make the Euro 2024 final which they eventually lost 1-2 to Spain.

What's your reaction?
