Fit-again Villa not in hurry to hit top form
The Barcelona striker has recently returned to the club after an injury lay-off of almost eight months.

Barcelona: Barcelona forward David Villa says it will take some time to get back to top form after having returned from the broken leg that ruled him out for most of last season.

The Spain striker said on Wednesday that "I still need to get up to speed" as he had been sidelined for "almost eight months without playing," forcing him "to be patient because rushing things now wouldn't be good for anyone."

Villa has played limited minutes since returning. He scored a goal as a substitute in Barcelona's opening Spanish league match and converted a penalty for Spain in their friendly against Saudi Arabia on Friday.

He says he "would already be playing" more at any other club but that "competition is very strong and my teammates are well prepared."

What's your reaction?
