London: The English Football Association has charged Sunderland manager Gus Poyet after a touchline incident with Hull counterpart Steve Bruce.
Poyet has until Monday to respond to the misconduct charge after being sent to the stands for kicking a water bottle holder and then arguing with Bruce during a 1-1 draw in the Premier League on Tuesday.
Bruce had to be restrained by the fourth official as he tried to confront Poyet, but the Hull manager has only been "formally reminded of his responsibilities" by the FA.
It followed a contentious booking in the first half for Jack Rodwell for diving after the Sunderland midfielder was put clean through and then went down under a challenge.
