Manchester: Spanish marksman Diego Costa has overcome his hamstring problem and illness and is likely to be in Chelsea's starting squad against Manchester United in the English Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday.

According to the Daily Mail, the football league's top scorer came through Saturday's training session and will be up for selection.

Costa, who joined Chelsea in the summer after a hugely successful spell with Spanish champions Atletico Madrid, was struggling with hamstring problem and a virus.

Manager Jose Mourinho had said earlier in the week that Costa had "little chance" of playing in the blockbuster clash and his witness would be reviewed after Saturday's training.

The news would be music to Chelsea fans, who would have been sweating following injury to France forward Loic Remy and the team would have relied on 36-year-old Didier Drogba to lead the line.

Manchester United have problems of their own with English striker Wayne Rooney still suspended while fellow frontman and new recruit Radamel Falcao a doubt after a heavy knock in training Friday.

Chelsea top the table with 22 points and are 10 points ahead of the Manchester United, who occupy eighth place.
