Kolkata: Mohun Bagan captain Odafa Okolie, who joined the team practice on Friday, said they are committed to play as a unit with the main goal of winning the elusive I-League in the upcoming season.
"There is no personal goal this time. We look forward to play quality football and win matches for the team. Certainly, I-League is something that is on our mind and top priority," the high-profile Nigerian forward told reporters on Friday.
Mohun Bagan will sport a new look team with Katsumi Yusa, and Odafa said he was looking forward to strike a good partnership with the Japanese forward. "It's important to play as a team. We have some new players and I'm looking forward to play alongside Yusa," Odafa said.
In the same vein, Odafa sounded emotional and said he would miss his former partner Tolgay Ozbey who has switched allegiance to qualifiers Mohammedan Sporting.
"I will surely miss Ozbey and the likes of (Syed Rahim) Nabi, Nirmal (Chhetri). We have a new side and it's important to gel well together," he added.
Goalkeeper Sandip Nandy, defenders Kinshuk Debnath and Rowilson Rodrigues, left-back Ravinder Singh, midfielders Adil Khan, Shankar Oraon and Anthony Pereira along with Yusa form a new look Mohun Bagan outfit for the 2013-14.
Mohun Bagan defeated Uttarpara Club 3-1 in a pre-season practice tie. East Bengal, meanwhile, unveiled their Sudanese forward James Moga who also sounded upbeat in the red and gold jersey.
"I am happy to be in East Bengal. I always wanted to play for this club. I do hope to win titles for East Bengal," Moga, who represented Pune FC last season, said.
Moga will be teaming up with Nigerian strong man Edeh Chidi in a new look East Bengal forward line.
