Tungabhadra Dam in Distress, Officials Claim the Situation as ‘Nothing Alarming’
Located in Hospet, Karnataka, the 71-year-old Tungabhadra Dam is in distress. There are concerns about the possibility of flooding in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, two of the three states that share water from the Tungabhadra Dam, after a 71-year-old chain of one of the 32 crest gates broke late on Saturday night, resulting in the release of thousands of cusecs of water.
