The new uniforms will be distributed under the 'Mukhyamantri Chhatra Chhatri Paridhan Yojana'.

“New uniforms have been selected for government and government-aided secondary school students under the ‘Mukhyamantri Chhatra Chhatri Paridhan Yojana’. Necessary instructions have been issued. New uniforms will be distributed to schools where old uniforms are not stitched/distributed,” the Information and Public Relations Department Govt. of Odisha said in a post, which roughly translates to English.

Currently, the school uniforms have a combination of green and white, which matches the colour code of BJD’s party symbol. The new uniforms will have shades of chocolate, light brown, and clay-baked yellow, per the official mandate. While the girls will be dressed in red rust churidar and full-sleeved clay-bake yellow shirts over checkered clay-bake yellow shirts, the boys will be dressed in red rust pants and checkered clay-bake yellow shirts. According to officials, the pockets on the boys’ and girls’ uniforms will be the colour of the chocolate rush. Also included will be two sets of clothes, shoes, and socks.
