Watch: Sanju Samson's Heartwarming Exchange With Dhruv Jurel's Father in Lucknow
Sanju Samson met his Rajasthan Royals teammate Dhruv Jurel's father Nem Chand after the team's impressive win over Lucknow Super Giants last week.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson had a heartwarming exchange with Dhruv Jurel’s father after leading his team to a dominant victory over Lucknow Super Giants last week. The moment transpired at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow where the Jaipur-based franchise registered their eighth win of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

Samson and Jurel were the star performers for the visitors, who had to chase a target of 197 runs. Both players notched up half-centuries, helping RR claim a comfortable seven-wicket victory in the away game.

After the on-field proceedings ended, Jurel’s father, Nem Chand, came to the ground to celebrate the match-winning performance of his son.

The Kargil war veteran was strolling on the pitch when Samson approached him for a handshake. The wicketkeeper-batter greeted Chand, saying, “Namaste.”

Jurel’s father responded with a hearty smile and praised Samson for his unbeaten knock against LSG. The Rajasthan skipper, however, gave the credit to Jurel, who notched his first fifty of IPL 2024.

Under the leadership of Samson, RR have been in red-hot form this season.

They have suffered only one defeat so far in the tournament.

Samson has enjoyed good outings with the bat. In his nine appearances so far, the wicketkeeper-batter has recorded 385 runs at an excellent average of 77. Samson has already breached the fifty-run mark four times.

Meanwhile, Jurel found his form against the Lucknow-based side. Coming in to chase a comprehensive 190-plus target, RR lost both their openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, in the powerplay. Riyan Parag also couldn’t survive long as RR went three-wicket down in the ninth over.

Following his dismissal, Jurel took over the charge, joining hands with his captain. The duo racked up 121 runs together.

Samson struck seven fours and four sixes to score 77 off 33 balls while Jurel played a quickfire 52-run knock which comprised five fours and two maximums.

RR are set to square off against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next IPL game, which will held on May 2.
