The Indian men’s cricket team had a special visitor in Rishabh Pant during their training session for the upcoming third T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru.
Pant, who is nearing a competitive return to cricket after getting injured in a car accident in December 2022, joined his India teammates during the training session.

In December, CricketNext News18 had reported how the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru is taking a cautious approach with Pant who underwent surgeries on his right knee following the horror car crash.
The BCCI is in no mood to rush his international comeback and it will be in IPL 2024 that Pant will return to action.
“Pant’s recovery has been on point, in fact better than expected. The load on the body will be gradually increased now and running at 100% intensity is likely to begin from next week,” a source told this publication.
Pant has had to miss a series of high profile international tournaments including the final of the World Test Championship, ICC ODI World Cup, IPL 2023 and Asia Cup as he continued his recovery.
The Indian men’s team is currently locked in a battle with Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series which they have already bagged after winning the opening two contests.
The series also saw the return of two of India’s stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the T20I side having last played at the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.
While Kohli has made a fine return, playing an aggressive innings in Indore, Rohit has recorded back-to-back ducks and will be eager to get some runs in the final match to be played on Wednesday.
