This is not the first time Dhoni was seen enjoying his life off the cricket field. He recently visited his ancestral home with his wife Sakshi Dhoni. Reportedly, the cricketer was returning to the place after a gap of over 20 years. However, the prolonged absence didn’t stop the residents from welcoming the captain to their village.
The duo had first visited Nainital and then left for Lwali, a village in the Jaanti tehsil. The couple was also spotted visiting the local temples in the neighbourhood. Dhoni then met his family members and relatives after which they left the village in the afternoon.
Sakshi even documented the trip with a post on her Instagram where she wrote, “Eventful day amongst all the Dhonis! Trust me there are many here!”

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be back in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 to lead the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK won their most recent IPL crown under Dhoni’s captaincy against Gujarat Titans last year. The epic clash between the two titans was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The stakes were high as Chennai required 10 runs in just two balls to secure the trophy. It was Ravindra Jadeja who scored a six and a four in successive balls to seal Chennai’s fifth.
Having secured a record fifth trophy, Dhoni felt like it just wouldn’t be fair for the fans if he decided to hang up his boots right after the storied triumph. The former India skipper has featured in a total of 10 IPL finals with Chennai Super Kings and is one of the most decorated captains in the competition’s history.
This year, Chennai made some big money moves in the IPL Auction 2024 to sign the likes of Rachin Ravindra, Shardul Thakur and Daryl Mitchell. It will be interesting to see if these players can fit into Dhoni’s setup and win yet another crown in 2024
