The crafty leggie came up big for his side on the day as he dismissed Marcus Stoinis in his very first, before castling the dangerous Nicholas Pooran for a golden duck off the successive delivery with a brilliant googly.

Delhi Capitals lead spinner Kuldeep Yadav demonstrated his prowess with the ball in hand yet again during his side’s encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekans Sports City in Lucknow on Friday.

The hosts were in a commanding position at 64 for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of 7 overs when Kuldeep came in to ply his trade.

The crafty leggie came up big for his side on the day as he dismissed Marcus Stoinis in his very first, before castling the dangerous Nicholas Pooran for a golden duck off the successive delivery with a brilliant googly.

Kuldeep struck with his third ball of the game as Stoinis picked up a leading edge off the spinner’s delivery as the ball ended up in the thankful hands of Ishant Sharma.

But what was even more impressive was his following delivery as the Indian spinner managed to outwit the big-hitting Nicholas Pooran and send him back to the hut without working the scoreboard.

Kuldeep completed his three-wicket haul in the alternative over of his double, as he struck again to remove LSG skipper KL Rahul for 39 as he was caught behind the wicket by Rishabh Pant.

LSG won the toss and opted to have a bat first as the opening pair of Rahul and Quinton de Kock put up a 28-run stand for the first wicket before the South African was scalped by Delhi pacer Khaleel Ahmed.

The seamer doubled his tally with the dismissal of Devdutt Padikkal before Kuldeep came into the fray to trouble the LSG batting unit and choke the flow of runs.

Deepak Hooda, who was brought in as an impact player by LSG, also fell cheaply as he could only manage 10 runs off 13 deliveries before Krunal Pandya was sent back by Mukesh Sharma.
