Star New Zealand batter and former captain Kane Williamson will miss the second Test of the ongoing three-match series against India. The 34-year-old right-handed batter, who is the all-time leading run scorer for New Zealand in Test cricket, missed the series opener as well, which the visitors won by 8 wickets in Bengaluru on Sunday (October 20).
Kane is yet to arrive in India for the ongoing red-ball series. According to a release by the New Zealand cricket board on Tuesday (October 22), Williamson will not be available for the second Test as he continues his rehabilitation from a groin strain.
The star batter, who suffered the injury during the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Galle last month, will remain in New Zealand to continue working towards full fitness.
