Having finished their South African tour on a winning note, India will next host Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series. The team have been in good form so far, winning the ODI series against the Proteas while drawing the Tests and T20Is. In their last T20I game against South Africa, India were able to pick up a 106-run victory. The match started with India losing the toss and finding themselves batting first. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 60 runs to start things on a brilliant note before Suryakumar Yadav followed with a powerful century in just 56 balls. This helped the visiting side set a massive total of 201 runs. In the second half, Kuldeep Yadav scalped five wickets to curb South Africa at 95, sealing a dominant win for India.
India and Afghanistan will play their T20I opener at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali on January 11. The Afghans will be heading into the bout off a 2-1 series victory over the United Arab Emirates on away soil. In the last game they played, Afghanistan clinched a four-wicket victory to seal a win in Dubai. They will now be hoping to take the Men in Blue down in their upcoming clash.
